The small things

It is the small things that can turn an hour, or a day.

Like the warm red of bricks bathed in sunlight, across from our giant window at work.

Like browsing for Christmas baking recipes. Doesn’t this bread from Mel’s Kitchen Cafe look amazing?

Recipe here.

Like planning a philosopher’s birthday. I’m particularly excited about this one. I can’t show you a picture of my plans, for obvious reasons. Well, I suppose I could show just one, somewhat relatedly:

It’s the small things that help to make up for angry Serbians who send demanding emails, or the “URGENT” need to notarize passport copies immediately, or the request to do a complete re-routing of a travel itinerary to Africa, or other such 9-5 trials which can foil a cheerful spirit.

Red bricks! Gingerbread! Philosophers! Positivity!
